Monday, February 5th: 

I am reassigning the grammar homework.  This will be due on Wednesday, February 7th

Activity 2: Correcting Run-On Sentences 1 - 8
Correct the run-on sentences by either using a period, a semi-colon, a comma and a coordinating conjunction, make one sentence a subordinate clause and join it with the main clause with a semi-colon and a common subordinating  word such as "because, since, when, etc."

Activity 3: Correcting Subject - Verb Agreement Errors 1 - 9
Write each sentence and correct them. Underline the subject and  italicize the verb. Make sure that the verb corresponds with the subject.

Activity 4: Combining Sentences 1 -  5
Combine the short choppy sentences into one sentence. Make sure that they are punctuated correctly and the subject - verb are in agreement.

Activity 5: Editing Student Work
Rewrite the paragraph, correcting the run-on sentences, and underline the subject-verb agreements.

Please break into your groups and continue working on your slides and presentations.

Critiqued the presentations 
Too many bullet points 
Bullet points were composed of long sentences rather than main ideas 
Henry and Leonela read from the screen but did not provide additional information from the text. 
Benedict -  had more spare bullet points and had graphically cleaner arrangement of ideas 
Did not read from the screen

Students took notes and will submit at the end of the presentations.

Precious’s computer froze and lost the slides

Rubric for the Presentation Notes:



The notes must include the title and the topic of the presentations

The notes must also include the names of the presenters.

The notes must be complete and thorough.

Avoid use of nonspecific pronouns such as it, she, and he. 

Identify by the use of names and title and proper nouns.

You must have the main idea(s)

You must have supporting evidence

You must include specific examples if provided in the presentation
