December 4, 2017 - December 8, 2017 Weekly Agenda
Monday, December 4th:
Your final draft of your research paper is due tonight at 11:59 on schoology and turnitin.com.
Tuesday, December 5th:
Congratulations to all who turned in your research paper!
For those of you having a difficult time submitting your research paper to turnitin.com, I opened a new assignment portal - Final Draft of Research Paper. You can use this assignment portal for your research paper.
Friendly reminder:
All outstanding work is due this Friday, December 8th, without exception. This includes vocabulary and grammar assignments.
For today's assignment, please do the handout on Adjective Clauses. Here's how to do it:
A clause is a group of words that has a noun, a verb, and may or may not express a complete thought.
Only an independent clause can stand alone.
An adjective clause must be attached to an independent clause; it cannot stand alone.
An adjective clause acts like an adjective, but it is a group of words (a clause) that describes or modifies a noun.
The adjective clause follows the noun it is describing and is attached to the noun by a relative pronoun.
The relative pronouns are: that, which, who, whose, whom.
Please do exercise 2, "Identifying the Adjective Clause". Write out the entire paragraph and italicize the adjective clauses.
Please do exercise 3, "Revising Sentences by Supplying Adjective Clauses". Do 1 - 5, combining the two sentences by using a relative pronoun - that, which, who, whose, whom.
The formula is: noun + relative pronoun (that, which, who, whose, whom) + adjective clause
