 Show videos on Rhetoric: Ethos, Logos, and Pathos
Read:
"Three Ways to Persuade"
Have student break into groups of four to write a scene displaying the three rhetorical devices:
How to get your parent, friend, teacher, etc, to say yes using ethos, logos, and pathos.

Divide class into groups of four and assign one of the following articles to them:
"A Change of Heart About Animals"
"Letters to the Editor in Response to "A Change of Heart About Animals"
"Hooked on a Myth"
"Of Primates and Personhood: Will According Rights and 'Dignity' to Nonhuman Organisms Halt Research?"

Each student in group must create three to four slides on power point and present to the class.

Copy the seven techniques of propaganda from my website.
Divide class into groups of four
Give each group one propaganda technique
Distribute the propaganda information to each group 
They must do the following:
1. Define it
2. Give examples from the past, or from commercials and identify the technique
3. Analyze speeches from politicians and identify the propaganda technique used
4. Analyze how to avoid the trap of falling for those propaganda techniques
5. Write and perform a commercial demonstrating the propaganda technique.
